Our father and senior director of Kniggendorf, Wilfried Otto, shares our passion for metal. But it is more likely that we have inherited this passion from him. Because he too is a tireless idea generator and implementer. In 2006, he came up with the idea of placing a bright pink pig in his front yard. He tinkered with the idea and its implementation with our designer at the time. And now, since the day of its completion, the same pig has been standing in the front yard of our parents' house, attracting the attention of young and old passers-by. But of course, not just any pig, but the forerunner of our unique standing mailboxes.
Pandemic meets inventiveness:
The idea for the unique parcel boxes was taken up again
With our now 30 employees, we were able to acquire a large pool of different products from that day until the pandemic. Among other things, we produce stamped parts for vehicle construction and safe deposit boxes for banks and security companies. In 2020, we also experienced a drop in orders, as some customers - such as inns, restaurants, and car dealerships - dropped away. And so, we also suffered a drop in sales. However, to spare ourselves and our employees from the short-time work, we had the idea to take up the idea of our senior boss again. After all, it was not uncommon for the pig in the front yard to cause children's eyes to light up and to meet with great interest among the larger passers-by. So, we developed the first prototype from the drawing of the models to the manufacturing of the samples, to the production: the second pig mailbox was born after half a year! Shortly after, we were joined by three more unusual designs: a frog, a rabbit, and a sheep. They are now all available in our online store and, in addition to our noble parcel boxes, are mainly aimed at private customers.

The production of our noble animal mailboxes is unique in Germany to date. Therefore, they are truly unique pieces, each of which is handcrafted, with attention to detail and made to order. Meanwhile, four of our employees are involved in the production of our animal mailboxes and with fun and enthusiasm in the matter. Because the production provides variety in the company. We are very proud that the animal mailboxes are exclusively available in Germany. We are also proud of the fact that we use the energy supplied by our solar plant for production: We live sustainability, and it is one of our most important corporate values.
